Apartment occupying the first floor of an unusual roundhouse barn, located on a 160-acre arable farm, just three miles from the Devonshire market town of Tavistock, and a short drive from Dartmoor.

This property enjoys a quiet rural location on the owner’s farm, close to the town of Tavistock, which sits on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The town itself is a fine example of an historic market town, with its shops, leisure centre, eateries, and theatre, making it a lovely place to spend a day wandering the streets which are lined with buildings made from local stone. Dartmoor National Park, the edge of which is just four miles from the property, offers stunning scenery, paths and cycle ways for all abilities, and a wealth of wildlife. Other attractions in the area include the National Trust properties of Buckland Abbey and Cothele, the city of Plymouth, and Morwhellam Quay.

This property is one-of-three on this 160-acre farm, and offers comfortable, quirky accommodation for adults only (babes in arms under six months are welcome). The property occupies the first floor of the farm’s roundhouse barn and is accessed by a flight of external stairs, which lead to the front door. Once inside, guests will love the rounded exposed stone walls in all of the rooms, as well as the sloping beamed ceilings, which give the property a unique charm. The lounge/diner, which occupies one half of the circular building, has window seats running all around the edge, allowing guests to enjoy views across the farm and the surrounding countryside, and there is also a small dining table, as well as comfortable sofa seating, and a TV, DVD, and hi-fi. The separate kitchen is equipped with everything that guests will need, including an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washing machine. The delightful bedroom is a lovely restful space, with a double bed. The properties bathroom offers a shower-over-bath and WC.

Outside, the property benefits from its own raised patio area with garden furniture, so that guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of their surroundings in privacy. In addition to this, guests have access to the spacious shared gardens. There is ample off-road parking adjacent to the property.

An excellent base, perfectly located from which to explore all that Devon has to offer. The cottage was well equipped, very cosy and comfortable. There are also fantastic views across the fields and hills.

We absolutely loved our stay in the upper Roundhouse. The kitchen is extremely well equipped everything you could possibly need. Location wise its miles of green fields as far as the eye can see but conveniently the access to the apartment is straight of the main road (which is quiet hardly any cars go by) definitely easy to find though if your satRead morenav tells you to turn left right near the end - dont do that! Warm comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway. Hide

Third time at Ottery Farm, but first time in Upper Roundhouse, really enjoyed our stay. Super views from windows and outside seating area across Dartmoor. Very cosy and warm flat. We love the fact that lots of thought has gone into the design of this holiday flat, e.g. plug points next to mirrors, automatic lighting outside and inside for those nigRead moreht time trips to the bathroom, fully stocked kitchen utensils and equipment. The cottage was cosy and comfortable with wonderful views over Dartmoor. It was the perfect location with many things to do within a 20 minute drive.

Exceeded all expectations, what a super spot to relax and get away from it all. We hope to go again and do some more exploring of the area, so many places to visit in a radius of 25 miles.
